Every year, the KCM team gets time off to enjoy the holidays – despite Lunar New Year season being just around the corner! As we talked about what we’re doing during the break this year, we realized many of us will be jetsetting to various destinations. Wanderlust, a well-traveled team, or just truly diverse in backgrounds and interests? No matter what our holiday destinations, close to home or far off, we bring back with us new experiences and fresh insights to tackle the challenges of the year ahead!
Where in the world is #KCMonholiday?
Seoul, South Korea
Our Managing Partner, Jennifer, loves going to Seoul for business and pleasure. The city is full of design inspiration and sensory stimulation which we hope she’ll bring back to share with the team! We’re jealous that she got to reunite with some of our beloved Seoul Institute of the Arts interns, Aaliyah & Nahyun, and sit in on a V App live stream session with Starship Entertainment artists Hyolyn of SISTAR, Kihyun of MonstaX, Junggigo, Mad Clown, Brother Su, Yeon Jung of WJSN, and Yoo Seung Woo!
San Francisco, California
The drive up to San Francisco proved to be a special one this year for our Account Supervisor, Christina. It snowed on The Grapevine mountain pass, the stretch of I-5 that is the major route from L.A. to Northern California. The snowfall was so heavy that they closed the road for a while on Christmas Eve! Bonus Photo: Our favorite bear from one of our holiday events that wrapped up just before Christmas!
Our Events Director, Steve’s, hometown is Atlanta and it looks like he’s missed his home city dearly judging from the shots he shared with us of the expansive ATL skyline views. Can we say, what an amazing double rainbow photo capture! Check out his family’s amazing holiday dinner spread too. That’s how Korean Americans do the holidays – with some yummy home style Korean bbq!
Our team travel bug and Associate Events Producer, Pei, went all the way to Taiwan for the holidays to visit family and do some sight-seeing. She says it’s not very holiday-ish, but her Christmas was spent wandering in an area filled with marble factories/warehouses where some time ago all the buildings were painted with these beautiful murals. Look at her happy face chilling on a warm Christmas day in Taroko Gorge at a spot called Sparrow’s Grotto!
It was our Account Executive, Tracy’s, first time in Seattle and the result – lots of touristy experiences visiting the Space Needle, Seattle Public Library (#librarygoals!), Volunteer Park, and the infamous Gum Wall. On the roof near the Space Needle was a cool modern Christmas tree made of 1,200 LED lights, 560 feet above the ground! Not shown: tons and tons of Seattle foodie photos.
Los Angeles area, California
Those of us who stayed close to home this year had just as much fun and relaxation, whether it be exploring holiday displays around town or chilling at home with our fur babies. Here are some highlights of holiday get-togethers, outings, and traditions in true LA fashion! Bonus: If you’re in the holiday area, check out Enchanted: Forest of Light at the Descanso Gardens! The chill at night and some delicious champurado hot choco will definitely prolong the holiday spirit as the season sadly comes to an end.
